How are FICO Scores Calculated?

Payment History - 35%

Lenders want to know if you've paid past credit accounts on time. This information helps a lender figure determine the amount of risk they will be taking on when extending credit.

Length of Credit History - 15%

In general, a longer credit history will increase your FICO score. Your age of credit takes into consideration how long your oldest and newest accounts have been opened.

Credit Mix - 10%

FICO scores will consider the type of accounts you have on your portfolio. Accounts include revolving accounts, installment loans, finance company accounts, and mortgage loans.

New Credit - 10%

Amounts Owed - 30%

In general, amounts owed refers to how much total debt you carry.
